Rockville, Maryland
Renovations completed in 2003 and 2005
Description
One of many prominent private clubs in the Washington, D.C. metro area, Woodmont has always impressed me with its overall setting. Located in the heart of an urban area, its 460 acres are more like a national park! Woodmont is a beautiful place and home to two courses, the North and the South. The scale of the site is astounding and allows for the layouts to be spacious. Arthur has consulted at the Club for many years, executing renovations to both courses. I was involved mainly on the South Course, which actually began years ago as the “Iron Duke”, a nine-hole par three layout that was later converted to an 18 hole course. I later helped to direct the re-design and construction of the tees and the bunkers on the South Course in 2003 and 2005.
